Certified Basketball Club (CBC) is a community/school-based program that primarily focuses on using psychoeducational techniques and sport strategies to empower at-risk youth by helping them develop resilience.
We have found that more students lack resiliency and are in many ways dealing with misdirected entitlement. For obvious reasons they don’t see importance of education, need for respect towards other and themselves. Other times, they struggle with lack of necessary resources. If we really want to rehabilitate our students, we have to think outside of the box. Most of our kids lack the will, so we must show them the way. We have to instill hope, encourage respect and live with purpose.
